Hot Chip & Sleaford Mods – Cat Burglar
In an unexpected but brilliant creative fusion, Hot Chip and duo Sleaford Mods joined forces at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The result? Two distinct tracks that showcase the energy of both.
During a single-day session at Abbey Road’s Lock In, the self-dubbed “Hot Mods” created something genuinely fresh. Their lead track “Cat Burglar” emerged as a peculiar yet engaging blend – think progressive rock meeting new wave sensibilities, while examining the confined spaces of modern existence.
The collaboration happened organically, with both groups working in perfect sync. What stands out is the natural flow of ideas, free from creative constraints.
This special release, coming via Bristol’s Friendly Records, features artwork by British artist David Shrigley, adding another layer of artistic depth to the project. All proceeds support War Child, making this not just a musical milestone but a meaningful contribution to an important cause.
